Hey everyone, We have just posted a helpful Document when working on your home designs. The document features elements to help your loved one age in place with as much independence as possible.

FYI. In our Walton Oaks home, we added a kitchen island. It will provide more work space, storage and eating space. There should be plenty of space for the dining table and chairs.

Designing a house is not easy. It's even more challenging when you want it to be a forever home where your loved one with IDD can age in place. The best way to avoid costly mistakes down the road is to ask questions now, learn from the ideas of others, plan for your loved one's future needs and not only what he/she requires now, and get creative.

We plan to repeat the Design Exchange event we hosted last year. Until then, let's use this thread to share ideas and ask questions.
